Description
The Icon Skyline Straight Stairlift is a complete straight stairlift! The Icon Skyline Straight Stairlift comes in two models: standard and plus. The standard features a weight limit of 120kg (19 stone), together with a slimline seat and all the essential features to ensure a safe and comfortable ride. For example, a manually operated swivel allows you to safely turn the seat to face the landing at the top of the stairs. The Icon heavy-duty model comes with the ERGO seat and an increased weight limit of 140kg (22 stone).
The Plus can also be upgraded to feature a powered swivel if you cannot turn the seat yourself. The Icon Skyline rail can incorporate a hinge so that the lift will not obstruct any doorways or access routes in your home when not in use. Additionally, the Skyline is the perfect choice for use outdoors – all Icon Skyline models can be upgraded with an outdoor kit, making them weatherproof.
What is a stairlift?
A stairlift is an electronic device that aids the transportation of a person with mobility limitations up and down the stairs in a home. Typically, a stairlift functions on a railing system which allows for a smooth and seamless trip from one floor to the other. Stairlifts are built to move at a slow pace along the staircase to ensure complete comfort and safety during use. Through the evolution of stairlifts, they are now fitted on the stair treads rather than on the wall. On top of this, stairlifts can be fitted on curved staircases; although this can be a little more complicated to install.
